The response to the exhibition and performances at The MAC in May 2012 was incredibly positive. Visitors felt a strong connection to the stories and people who inspired the work and were glad to be re-acquainted with an area of Belfast that some had forgotten about, or perhaps never even heard of.
Here are some comments from visitors in their own words:
“In four years in Belfast I have taken the M2 various times. I had never heard of Sailortown before this, and would have not known if this project had not taken place."

“Beautiful, haunting music. Poignant and personal stories. Brilliant!”

“Thank you - was such a gorgeous performance and great to find out about Sailortown as I didn’t know anything about it  before - amazing way to learn about it."

“A beautiful experience. Sailortown is a place I have been intrigued about and I’m delighted this project was able to satisfy some of that curiosity, especially since, as Fionnuala and Isobel touched on, so little of the history is visible in the area now. Very moving."
